Deep Tissue
This technique focuses on utilizing stronger pressure to realign the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue to release tension and improve overall function. Deep tissue work is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.
Some of the same strokes are used as classic Swedish massage therapy but the movement is typically slower, and the pressure is more intense and concentrated on areas of tension and discomfort, possibly involving trigger point release.
